Unit Description
- 20-bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit in an Academic Medical Center
- Patient population includes STEMI, post-arrest, shock, pulmonary embolism, aortic aneurysm, post catheterization interventional cardiology, and Swan-Ganz catheter hemodynamic monitoring
- AACN Gold Beacon Award-winning unit at a Magnet Recognized hospital

Contract Details
- Employment Type: Travel
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (American Heart Association only)
- ACLS (American Heart Association only)
- Valid permanent RN license (Temporary licenses NOT accepted; primary source verification required within 30 days of start and updated upon expiration)
Required Health & Safety Credentials
- MMR: Positive titers within last 15 years or appropriate booster protocol
- Varicella: Positive titers within last 15 years or appropriate booster protocol
- Hepatitis B: Proof of full series, partial series with declination, or positive titers within 15 years
- Tdap: Proof of vaccination within past 10 years (declinations not accepted)
- 2-Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Negative results within last 6 months; if positive, clear chest x-ray and current TB questionnaire required
- Fit Test: Completed within 1 year of start (specific approved respirators)
- Physical/Health Statement: Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year stating ability to work without restrictions
- Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (instant screens not accepted)
- Influenza Vaccine: Preferred but not required; medical or religious exemptions require approval
Professional & Employment Verification
- UHS I-9 Attestation: Proof of eligibility to work
- Ohio Fingerprints: Ohio BCI&I check and FCRA-compliant national criminal background check (FBI fingerprint check if less than 5 years residency)
- Criminal Background Check: Within 6 months of start, including SSN trace and county searches for last 7 years
- OIG Search: Within 6 months of start
- SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC Checks: Within 6 months of start
- Education Verification: Highest level of education verified; international equivalency required if applicable
- Employment Verification: Verification of employment within last 5 years through third-party
- Competency Exam: Department-specific exam with minimum 80% score, completed within 1 year prior to start
- Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; 80% passing score required, completed within 1 year prior to start
- Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist completed within 1 year prior to start (submission required)
- Badge Photo: Professional headshot required
