Registered Nurse – Stepdown Unit (Travel/Contract)

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Work on a Stepdown unit with potential to float to similar patient care units including Emergency Department.
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (Day: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM / Night: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM). Shift rotation possible based on operational needs.
• Must work at least every other holiday.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio.
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within the last year.
• Certifications required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Orientation and Onboarding

• Completion of required online training modules prior to start; must be done on a computer using Google Chrome.
• Modules include facility-specific safety and procedural training.
• Baseline competency exams (medication administration and ECG interpretation) completed at orientation.
• Photo for badge required (headshot, shoulders up, white background).
• Must submit a government-issued photo ID and valid driver’s license.

Additional Notes

• Candidates may be required to float to other units caring for similar patient populations.
• Candidates must be prepared for variable shifts if operational needs require.
• All documentation including license verification, education verification, and background checks must be current and compliant prior to start.
• Candidates with gaps in employment greater than 6 months may need to repeat orientation modules and competency testing.
• Facility requires strict adherence to immunization and health screening policies; exemptions require agency and facility approval.

Summary of Work Hours

• 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours each).
• Rotating day and night shifts with potential variability.

This position is ideal for experienced Stepdown RNs with current Ohio licensure seeking a travel contract in a high-acuity hospital setting.
