Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech

Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: 4x10 hour days (7:30 AM - 6:00 PM), Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week
  • On-Call: Yes, 1-2 nights per week, one weekend in a six-week period, holiday call possible
  • Types of Cases: Right and Left Heart Cath Diagnostic, PCI, Complex PCI, CTO, ASA, PFO/ASD, MitralClip, Watchman, PTMV, TAVR, Peripheral, Vascular
  • Number of Cath Lab Rooms: 5 plus Hybrid OR
  • First-timers Accepted: Yes
  • Locals Accepted: Yes, on a case-by-case basis
  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks; called off hours can be broken down to add up to 1 shift

Required Qualifications

  • Cath Lab Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Recent Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Additional Information

  • Charting System: EPIC preferred
  • Facility Type: Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, Magnet Hospital
  • Travel Requirements: During hurricane season (June-November), employees may be assigned to emergency response teams
  • Orientation: Completion of facility-specific orientation modules required before start
  • Work History: Verification of last 3 clinical employers required
  • Scheduling: Block schedule accommodations possible at manager’s discretion

  • Radiation badge processing can take 5-7 days; candidates cannot start patient care without it
  • Candidates must renew certifications if expiring within 30 days of start or have scheduled renewal courses
