Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech

Location: Salem, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Perform Nuclear Medicine procedures in compliance with hospital policies and procedures. Typical shifts are 4 days per week, 10 hours per day, with on-call duties after department hours (approximately 7 on-call days per month, though these shifts are generally not busy).


Schedule

  • Monday, Tuesday, Friday: 8:15 AM – 6:45 PM
  • Thursday: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • On-call after hours as required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Nuclear Medicine license in Oregon
  • Minimum 5 years of Nuclear Medicine experience, including experience within the last year
  • Certification with either the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Additional Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 90 days of start (7-year search)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and ongoing every 30 days
  • Physical exam within one year of start
  • Fit mask testing onsite within the first week of starting (unless exempt)
  • Required immunizations and/or titers: Tdap, TB screening, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu vaccine or declination
  • Drug testing (10-panel) within 90 days of start
  • References: 2 references within last 2 years showing 1 year in comparable specialty, with at least one supervisory reference within last 12 months

Onboarding & Compliance

  • Completion of required competency exams and HealthStream modules by due dates
  • Badge photo submission prior to start
  • DOT Highway Shipping & Transportation of RAM training for Nuclear Medicine Techs (approx. 1 hour)
  • Various facility-specific forms and assessments as applicable

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
  • On-call shifts are expected but generally not busy.
  • This is a travel/contract role with a 13-week assignment length.
