Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (10:30 AM – 11:00 PM)
- On-Call: Yes, 1 weekend 24-hour call per month (Saturday or Sunday)
- Holiday Coverage: Possible holiday shifts required
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years as a Registered Nurse
- Specialty Experience: Must be able to circulate in all services including CT, Vascular, Surgical Oncology, Plastics, Colorectal, Robotics, Bariatric
- Preferred Experience: Scrubbing cardiac and vascular cases highly preferred
- First-Time Travelers: Not accepted
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA certification only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA certification only
- Radiation Badge – Required and provided by the agency
Licensure
- Must hold an active, unencumbered South Carolina RN license or compact RN license
- Primary source verification required
- Temporary (walk-through) licensure process available for eligible candidates without SC license (not applicable if background issues exist)
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in South Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience
- At least 1 year of recent Vascular Surgery experience within the last year
- Experience circulating cases in Vascular Surgery, Cardiothoracic (CT), Surgical Oncology, Plastic Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, and Robotic Surgery
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Radiation Badge required
Additional Requirements
- Must have a current fit test for N95 mask (O&M Halyard FLUIDSHIELD or 3M Aura 1870+) within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
- Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands of the position
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start or proof of prior positive with appropriate follow-up
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Tdap, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; if declined, must complete vaccination declination form
- Flu vaccination required during flu season (August 1 – April 30), or approved medical/religious exemption
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start (approximately 2 hours)
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge required before start
Job Responsibilities
- Circulate in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) across multiple surgical specialties
- Provide support for CT, Vascular, Surgical Oncology, Plastics, Colorectal, Robotics, Bariatric surgeries
- Participate in on-call rotation as required
- May be called off for up to 1 shift per 2-week pay period
