Pediatric ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks (minimum new contracts and extensions)
Position Overview
- Specialty: Pediatric Emergency Room Registered Nurse
- Shift: Night shift, 4 shifts of 12 hours each (16:00 - 4:30)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week (facility may call off up to 3 times during a 13-week assignment)
- Patient Ratios: Typically 1:4 (days, nights, weekends), may increase during high census
- Weekend Requirement: Travelers scheduled for weekends as needed (weekend days = Sat-Sun; weekend nights = Fri-Sun)
- Floating: Occasional float to Pediatric admission floors within scope of practice
- Block Scheduling: Not guaranteed
- Locals: No locals accepted within 100 miles radius
- Pending License: Accepted with approval
- Return-to-Office Restrictions: Absences greater than 7 days require approval
- Break Policy: 6-month break required after 4 consecutive assignments or 1 year of cumulative travel
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
- Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with Pediatric patients
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current certifications (issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross where applicable):
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

- No RQI certifications accepted for required certifications
- Admission holds may board in Pediatric ED during high census
- Candidates must complete Relias Basic Dysrhythmia Exam within 4 days of signing; two attempts allowed before cancellation
- Candidates failing required onsite courses (e.g., MOAB) have two chances before termination
- Facility is not near public transportation; candidates must have reliable transportation arrangements
- Overtime applies after 48 hours starting 10/30/2025 contracts
