Registered Nurse (CCU) - Travel/Contract

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36


Job Description

  • Requires 2 years of current, strong LTAC (Long-Term Acute Care) nursing experience
  • Skills needed: tracheostomy care, ventilator management, IV drips
  • Patient ratios typically 1:5-6 due to LTAC setting
  • Every Other Week (EOW) schedule
  • Local candidates accepted as travel

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
  • Minimum 2 years of Coronary Care Unit (CCU) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience in a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) setting
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Proficient in tracheostomy care and ventilator management skills

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Unexpired government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license or state ID)
  • Background checks within 1 year, including SS trace, county searches (7 years), nationwide sex offender search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and sex offender search (all required within 30 days of start)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Primary source verification of state license and NURSYS verification prior to start
  • Signed acknowledgment of facility orientation, safety manual, dress code, and key clinical policies
  • Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
  • Fit testing for N95 mask within past year (updated annually)
  • Immunizations/vaccinations or documented exemptions required for:
    • Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis)
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer; exemptions apply for candidates born before 1957)
    • Hepatitis B (series, positive titer, or declination)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of chickenpox)
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31)
    • COVID-19 vaccination or declination
  • Negative TB test (2-step PPD, Q-Gold, T-SPOT) or chest X-ray within 6 months prior to start; 2nd PPD can be completed onsite if needed
  • Drug screen within 12 months prior to start
  • Two professional references within 3 years of hire
  • Employment application and skills checklist required

Additional Notes

  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests required as applicable
  • Photo for badge with clear background required
  • Candidate must review and complete onboarding and orientation packets
  • Missouri-specific electronic driver’s license search required within 30 days prior to start
