Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Pain Management / Interventional Radiology
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse in Pain Management / Interventional Radiology
- Shift: Evening, 5 shifts per week, 8 hours each (3:30 PM – 12:00 AM)
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
- Call Requirements:
- On-call rotation Monday-Friday, 12 AM – 8 AM
- Weekends and holidays on-call coverage 24 hours
- On-call rotated among all nurses
- Occasional weekend day shift (8 AM – 4:30 PM) may be required
- Request Time Off (RTO): Maximum 5 days, no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO on holidays, weekends, or the day before/after holidays
- Floating: Mandatory floating within Radiology and Pain departments as needed
- Staff must wear lead protection during shifts

Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Illinois
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or state ID)
- Background check within 12 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years; must include all aliases
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months, signed by PA, NP, DO, or MD
- Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year; medical or religious exemptions require approval for onsite PAPR use
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 12 months; PPDs not accepted after 12/15/2025
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer with booster if low titer
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination within 1 year
- Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer with booster if low titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 – May 4)
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; marijuana testing not required
- Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology and color blindness testing (for starts after specified dates)
Additional Notes
- This is a mandatory float facility; nurses must be willing to float within the Radiology and Pain departments
- No block scheduling available
- No holidays off except when on call
- References and employment application required per state and agency standards
