Job Opportunity: CVICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Flagstaff, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) RN - Flex Pool
• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
• Patient Ratios:

  • Days: 1:2
  • Nights: 1:1
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
• Weekend Requirement: As needed
• Floating: Must be willing to float to Critical Care Units (ICU, STICU, PCU), MS Tele Units, and Cardiac Monitoring Room if skilled
• Locals Accepted: Yes
• Blocked Scheduling: No
• RTO Restrictions: Unit Manager’s approval required
• Scrub Color: Any color allowed
• Charting System: Cerner
• Parking: Free

Experience & Requirements

• Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• First-time Travelers: Accepted
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
• Special Requirements:

  • Fresh open-heart surgery experience is required
  • Must be familiar with all hemodynamic monitoring skills
  • Experience with IABP and Impella devices preferred
  • Prismaflex CRRT experience is a plus

Licensure & Certifications

• Active, unrestricted Arizona RN license or valid participating compact license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC preferred but not required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year history, SSN trace, criminal and sex offender searches required within 30 days of start
• Drug testing (10-panel) within 30 days of start and updated annually
• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to perform essential job functions
• Fit mask (N95) required within 1 year of start and updated annually; onsite fit testing available if needed
• Immunizations and titers required or declination forms accepted for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (proof of immunity or vaccination)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella (proof of immunity or vaccination)
  • Influenza vaccine or facility-specific declination form (mask required if declined)
  • COVID vaccine series or declination form
• TB testing: Negative PPD, Q Gold, or T-Spot within 1 year and updated annually; chest x-ray required for past positives
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests required within 1 year of start with minimum passing scores
• Security and confidentiality agreements must be signed prior to start
• Photo for badge required
