Job Opportunity: Pharmacist Outpatient (Travel/Contract)
Location: Kingman, Arizona
Specialty: Pharmacy
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule
- 7 days on, 7 days off
- 10-hour shifts (9:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend required
Licensure & Certifications
- Active Arizona pharmacist license in good standing required
- IV admixture and sterile compounding certificates required
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP certifications as applicable
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable
Experience Requirements
- Acute care inpatient experience required (student rotations count)
- Previous charge experience required
- Meditech electronic documentation experience required
- Years of experience: Not explicitly stated, but must have prior acute care inpatient and charge experience (implies at least 1+ year)
- Prior travel experience: Not required; locals and first-time travelers accepted equally
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, coordinate, and participate in pharmaceutical services related to drug preparation and dispensing
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding drug dispensing and record maintenance
- Plan and schedule shift work, ensuring proper staffing and resources
- Train new staff members
- Compile charges for prescriptions and maintain accountability and cost records
- Interface with medical staff regarding pharmaceutical supplies, formulary, drug usage, and regulations
- Compound, package, and label ointments, solutions, and bulk pharmaceutical supplies
- Maintain and support hospital formulary and inventory; reorder and stock drugs and supplies
Patient Census
- Hospital census: 130-150 patients per day

- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
- Background checks including 7-year search, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- Copy of transcript or diploma (or NSCH verification)

- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Proof of immunizations or titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- Two references within 3 years of start
- Annual skills checklist
This position is suitable for pharmacists with acute care inpatient experience and charge experience, comfortable working night shifts on a rotating schedule, and holding the necessary certifications and licensure for Arizona. Prior travel experience is not required.
