Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Technologist
Location: Santa Cruz, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform routine and specialized radiation treatments independently according to physician-developed treatment plans.
- Use sound judgment and clinical skills to deliver safe, precise, and timely procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations to ensure privacy and safety.
- May perform specific procedures and orient new staff to the department.
- Shift start times are flexible between 6 AM and 12 PM.
Required Certifications
- ARRT (Therapy)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- State License (Primary source verification required within 30 days of start)
- Tech Certification (National) required within 30 days of start, as applicable
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, CCRN, TNCC, EFM, CPI certifications may be required depending on position (verify with recruiter)
Required Experience & Skills
- Must have experience with Elekta, Mosaiq, and AlignRT systems.
- Years of specialty experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 2 years in Radiology/Cardiology or related field.

Background & Screening Requirements

- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana due to CA law).

- References: 2 professional references required for clinical/allied positions.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (must clear for work).
- Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply).
- Immunizations/vaccinations required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titers or vaccination series with boosters as needed
- Hepatitis B: Series or signed declination
- Varicella: Positive titer or vaccination series with boosters as needed
- Seasonal Flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April) or signed declination
- Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana).
Competency Exams
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required for some units.
- Other competency exams as required by profession and unit.
Facility-Specific Documents & Training
- Candidates must review and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, and regulatory orientation prior to start.
- TB screening questionnaire required within 90 days of start and renewed annually.
- Religious accommodation forms required if applicable for vaccine or PAPR exemptions.
