Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Job Details
- Facility Type: Transplant facility, Primary stroke center
- Work Schedule: Tuesday to Friday
- Call: None
- Floating: Within facility/scope of practice and to Outpatient as needed
- Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year (accepts first-time travelers)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Holiday Work:
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
- If 2 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work both
- If 3 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work two of them
- Major Holidays Include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
- Locals Accepted: Yes, at same rate
- Orientation: Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8 weeks)
- Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
Required Certifications & Licenses
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RNs/RRTs/CRTs in related specialties
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required except for Microbiology Techs and Med Techs
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for RNs in certain specialties (e.g., PACU, ER)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): May be required depending on specialty
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire (no renewal required)
- State License: Must be licensed by the State of Georgia (for CRTs & RRTs)
- NURSYS Verification: Annual verification required for RN, LPN/LVN, AP
- Tech Certification Verification: National allied health license verification within 30 days prior to start (if applicable)
- NIH Stroke Certification: May be required depending on specialty
- Other: Additional certifications may be required based on specialty and clinical track
Required Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required for RNs and LVNs by agency
- Color Blind Testing: Required for all candidates; alternative assessment available if needed
- Competency Exam: Required for Nursing and Allied by agency
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for Telemetry, ICU, Cardiac step-down, and related units; up to 3 attempts allowed
Health & Background Requirements
- Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days of start, including education verification
- Physical Exam: Required by agency within 1 year of start
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions
- TB Testing: PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months; if positive, additional documentation and chest x-ray required
- TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates
- Immunizations:
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post-start if eligible
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post-start if eligible
- Hepatitis B: Series, surface antibody titer, or signed declination; declination form required if titer negative
- Flu Vaccine: Required or declination during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
- Other Vaccinations: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap highly recommended, especially for privileging specialties
Additional Requirements
- References: 2 clinical references required by agency
- Skills Checklist: Must be updated within 12 months
- Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
- Facility Policies: Candidates must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start
Notes
- Clinical screening will be conducted to determine fit before final manager approval
- Floating assignments may include outpatient areas within scope of practice
- Privileging specialties (e.g., CVOR Certified Surgical First Assistant, RNFA) have additional compliance and documentation requirements not applicable to this role
This position is suitable for healthcare professionals with at least 1 year of specialty experience in Radiology/Cardiology, including first-time travelers.
