Job Description

• Work schedule: 8-hour days with variable start times

  • Tuesday-Thursday: 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Friday: 9:45 AM - 6:15 PM
  • Saturday: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
• Ability to recognize signs of distress in pediatric patients is required.

Requirements

Licenses & Certifications

• California Physical Therapist (PT) License (required)
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) (required)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (required)

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of Pediatric Acute Care Physical Therapy experience (highest required years of experience)

Preferred

• Experience in an Academic Medical Center setting

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks

• 7-year criminal background check (including specific counties and nationwide checks)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Education verification (diploma or transcript acceptable)

Certifications (if applicable)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certified (not required for this role but noted for ICU/critical care roles)

Health & Immunization

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including physician statement of fitness to work

• Two negative TB tests (PPD, QuantiFERON, or Tspot) with specific timing requirements
• Immunity or vaccination documentation for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Drug testing (standard 9 panel excluding THC) within 30 days of start, re-run every 2 years
• Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination required during flu season
• COVID-19 vaccination requirements including booster doses or approved exemptions

Competency Exams & Training

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (passing score 80%+) within 1 year of start
• Unit-specific competency exam (passing score 80%+) within 12 months of start
• Core training modules (Core Part I, II, III) with passing scores (80%+) completed within 1 year prior to start and updated annually
• Pass/Fail Telemetry and Medication tests may be required depending on unit
• Cyber Security Awareness Training and HIPAA training (clinical and non-clinical as applicable)

Employment History & References

• Resume with last 7 years of work history; gaps of 30+ days must be explained
• Verification of 7 years of work history (third-party verification if needed)
• Two supervisory references required, preferably from the most recent employment
