Sterile Processing Tech

Job Overview

• Travel/contract assignment
• Temp-to-perm opportunity
• Evening shift: 5x8s, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
• Rotating weekends
• Holiday rotation
• May float within scope and may be reassigned to sister facilities
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Sterile Processing Technician (2 years of experience)
• Sterile Processing Technician experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• CBSPD or HSPA
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients

Schedule and Work Expectations

• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• No more than 2 callouts unless supported by a doctor’s note
• No more than 3 tardies
• Must work holidays if not requested in advance and the facility is open
• May be assigned to inclement weather response teams

Compliance and Pre-Start Requirements

• Proof of 2 clinical references
• Complete application/resume with all PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps
• Annual background check
• Education verification required
• Physical assessment for sterile processors, signed by a licensed provider
• Initial physical exam, updated annually
• CMP and CBC with differential
• Fit test within 90 days before start, then annually
• Drug screen within 90 days before start
• TB questionnaire annually
• Tdap within 10 years of start or declination
• COVID vaccination documentation or declination
• Flu vaccination documentation or exemption, if applicable for the season
• Color blind testing
• Competency exam
• Skills checklist, updated annually
• Orientation modules must be completed before start
• Badge photo required before start

• BLS not required
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis
• Local radius: 60 miles
• Parking requires a one-time $20 pass for nights and weekends
