Labor and Delivery RN

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Seattle, Washington
• Night shift: 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
• 48 hours per week
• Contract length: 26 weeks
• 1st timers accepted
• Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Pre-approved time off is case by case

Unit / Setting

• High Risk / High Volume L&D
• 4 ORs
• 31 rooms
• 31 beds
• Average daily census: 15/day
• 500–600 deliveries/month

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• Current supervisory references
• Proof of required certifications with submission
• Current NURSYS
• Must pass clinical review
• Must be able to function as Baby Nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to postpartum
• Must circulate
• Must provide newborn care, including eyes and thighs, Vit K injections, and newborn assessments
• Experience with high risk, fast-paced, high acuity environments
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years of high risk experience
• ACLS
• AWHONN Advanced
• AWHONN Intermediate

Certifications / Licenses

• BLS
• NRP

Float / Assignment Scope

• Float required to postpartum / antepartum
• May float to sister facilities that do Mother/Baby

Clinical / Patient Population Notes

• Midwifery clients
• Private OBs
• Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery
• Community care clinics
• Electronic fetal monitoring
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
• Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate are part of the unit context
