Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool

Overview

Travel/Contract role in Mission Viejo, California
Night shift: 3x12s, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Start date: 11/9 only
Contract length: 13 weeks
Home unit: NICU
Float scope: NICU, PICU, Pediatrics
Weekend expectation: 6 shifts per 6-week schedule
Major holiday blocks are used

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in California
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Critical Care Float experience within the last year
5 years of Critical Care Float experience
NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience
PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience
Pediatrics experience
Experience with mechanical ventilation 2-3 times per week
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association

Unit Details

NICU: 22-bed Level III unit caring for preterm infants as early as 22+ weeks, respiratory distress, hyperbilirubinemia, IDM/poor feeders, failure to thrive, and hypoglycemia
PICU: 8-bed Level II unit caring for traumas, respiratory diagnoses, ingestions, and some surgical cases
Pediatrics: 24-bed general med/surg unit with an embedded Eating Disorder Stabilization Program and long-term EEG program

RTO maximum: 5 days
No holiday RTO accepted
