Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Job Overview

• Travel/contract role in Arlington, Virginia
• 13-week assignment
• Night shift, 3x12s
• Start date is ASAP, dependent on EPIC experience/training schedule

Unit Details

• Emergency department in a Level II trauma center
• Magnet-designated facility
• Certified comprehensive stroke center with 24/7 interventional cardiology
• Fast-paced ED with 65,000 annual visits
• 36-bed ED, including 8 express care beds
• Cares for patients across the lifespan, from neonate to geriatric

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• ED - Emergency Department (3 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS issued by American Heart Association
• TNCC
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Schedule

• 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Compliance / Pre-Start Requirements

• Flu vaccination is required during flu season; approved medical or religious exemptions may be allowed with supporting documentation
• Government-issued photo ID
• Proof of E-Verify or attestation
• 2 clinical references
• Complete application/resume
• Standard 7-year work history verification
• 7-year criminal background check
• Education verification
• Pre-employment physical within 1 year of start
• Fit test within the last 12 months
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
• TB questionnaire
• Drug screen within 30 days of start
• Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity/vaccination documentation
• Tetanus/diphtheria/Tdap documentation
• Color blindness testing
• Core competency modules and facility orientation documents before start
• HIPAA, confidentiality, safety, privacy, dress code, parking, and other facility acknowledgements before start
