Job Details

  • Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • Start Date: Must start on or before June 8th
  • Holiday Commitment: Required to work both July 4th and Labor Day

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Kansas
  • Med Surg experience within the last year (0 years of experience accepted)
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIHSS Certification
  • MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training
  • EKG Exam
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

  • Completion of facility-specific onboarding including:
    • Signed Assignment Agreement
    • Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics) with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
    • EKG Exam with passing score of at least 80%, updated every 3 years
    • Cerner Test-Out and Training Checklist with signed attestation
    • Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
    • Education Attestation (6 hours pre-hire training)
    • Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules
    • Skills Checklist for specialty, updated annually
  • Background and Verification:
    • Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and 7-year employment and residence history; updated annually or after breaks in service over 90 days
    • EPLS check within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days
    • Employment Verification for past 7 years; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
    • Education Verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days
    • Confirmation of Assignment documentation on agency letterhead with accurate start/end dates
  • Health and Immunizations:
    • Ascension Color Vision test, updated every 3 years
    • Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
    • 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) testing with annual TB questionnaire; if positive TB, chest X-ray within last year required
    • MMR: documented proof of two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted
    • Varicella: documented proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by provider; no declinations accepted
    • Tdap: valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
    • Hepatitis B: vaccination series completion or signed declination
    • Influenza vaccine is optional; if declined during flu season, mask wearing required
    • Fit Test for respiratory protection, preferably completed prior to start; updated annually
    • 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter; retesting required after break in service > 90 days
  • Identification:
    • Valid Driver’s License or State ID matching address on file; must show front and back

Additional Notes

  • Optional unit-specific checklist may be required by unit leader within one week of start.
  • Badge photo required: forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations.
  • Hiring manager evaluation and name change documentation are optional.

This position requires commitment to specific holiday shifts and completion of extensive onboarding and compliance documentation prior to and during the assignment.
