Job Description

• Must work one holiday (eve and day) during the contract
• RN will rotate through:

  • Triage
  • Antepartum
  • Labor
  • Circulate
  • Transition (no post-partum)
• Required skills/certifications: NIHSS, BLS, ACLS, NRP

Required Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

  • AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
  • Required for multiple departments including Antepartum, Cath Lab, ICU, L&D, ER, PACU, etc.
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

  • AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
  • Required for all clinical and allied staff (except Clinical Lab Scientist)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

  • Required for ER, Interventional Radiology, Pediatrics, PACU, Allied staff
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

  • Required for Antepartum, L&D, Mother-Baby, NICU
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

  • Required for ER and as applicable
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)

  • Preferred for L&D; Intermediate or Advanced AWHONN certification
• NIH Stroke Certification

  • Required for all clinical positions (not required for allied health)
• Other certifications as applicable:

  • CHEMO, ENPC, Tech Cert Verification (national), State License Verification, NURSYS Verification, HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Confidentiality and Security Agreement (must review/sign prior to start)
• Drug Screening and Blood Testing Consent Form (onsite drug screen during orientation)
• TB Questionnaire (required regardless of TB status)
• Compliance Checklist (to be signed by candidate and agency)
• Certification by Cost Center (for QM review)

Health Requirements

• Physical Exam (within 1 year, must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
• N95 Fit Mask Test (within 1 year, PAPR not accepted)
• Immunizations/Vaccinations:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 12 months)
  • Rubeola (Measles) - positive titer or 2 vaccines required
  • Mumps - positive titer or 2 vaccines required
  • Rubella - positive titer or 2 vaccines required
  • Hepatitis B - positive titer or series of 3 vaccines required
  • Varicella - positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history required
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; additional onsite drug screen upon arrival
• Flu Vaccination or Agency Declination (required October 1 - March 31)
• COVID-19 Vaccine preferred but not required

Background and Compliance Checks

• Lifetime Criminal Background Check (within 30 days of start, updated annually)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM checks (within 30 days of start)
• HHS/OIG checks (within 30 days of start)
• 2 professional references within 3 years
• Employment application/resume required
• Skills checklist (updated annually)
• Education verification and transcript/diploma required for Cath Lab, CVOR, L&D RN roles
• Texas-specific background checks and registries required within 30 days prior to start:

  • Texas DPS Criminal History
  • Texas Employee Misconduct Registry
  • Texas DADS Employability Status Check

Additional Notes

• Must meet competency exams as applicable by profession within 1 year of start
• Must provide all required documentation and certifications within specified timeframes
• Candidate must be prepared to comply with all facility-specific policies and procedures
