Job Details

• Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
• Unit Census: 32 rooms, average daily census of 29
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Electronic Systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
• Uniform Color: Navy Blue
• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days; blackout dates during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Yes, within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Call: None
• Holiday Work: Required to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day) with specific expectations depending on number of holidays during assignment

Required Experience & Skills

• Valid Registered Nurse license in Georgia
• Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in Charge Nurse roles
• Proficient with Epic electronic medical record system
• Skills and knowledge required:

  • Chest Tubes

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Compliance & Onboarding Requirements

• Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may result in a 2-week start delay due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification and criminal history
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start; instant drug screen acceptable; cannot start with results pending
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months or negative chest x-ray if previously positive
  • TB Questionnaire updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters as needed
  • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters as needed
  • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
  • Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31)
  • TDAP highly recommended but not required
• Color Blind Testing required; alternative assessment available if needed
• Competency exams required by agency (medication test, dysrhythmia/EKG competency for applicable units)
• Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
• Verification of most recent work history required (can be pending at start with proof of processing)
• Two clinical references required

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of experience, comfortable working night shifts in a medical-surgical adult to geriatric patient population, and possessing strong skills in IV management, wound care, and respiratory support devices.
