Registered Nurse - Step Down Unit

Location: Beaufort, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Must have ICU experience; traveler will float to ICU, Stepdown, and Medical-Surgical units
• Patient ratio: 1:4-5
• 21 beds on unit
• Non-titrating drips including Amiodarone, NTG, Cardizem, Lopressor, Cardene
• Care for patients with vascular procedures (fem-pop, CEA), NSTEMI, post cardiac cath with intervention
• Manage CIWA protocol with IVP Ativan (no Presidex)
• Experience with Peritoneal Dialysis, stable BiPAP, heated high flow oxygen (<80%), home ventilators (Trilogy)
• Wound care, nebulizers, and hemodialysis in dialysis department
• EMR system: Meditech
• Scrubs color: Royal Blue and White
• Orientation every Wednesday
• Every other week (EOW) requirement

Shift Details

• Day shift, 3 shifts per week
• 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
• 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Minimum 1 year of Stepdown experience within the last year
• ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior travel experience preferred but not required
• Floating experience across multiple units

Additional Notes

• Must work within a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Facility uses Meditech EMR system
• Orientation and training requirements are strict and time-sensitive
• Candidates must sign job description and confidentiality agreements prior to start

This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs comfortable with floating to multiple critical care and stepdown units, who meet all licensure, certification, and health requirements.
