Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry (Travel/Contract)

Location: Tucson, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Minimum 4 weekend shifts per month required
• Float within scope of care/practice
• EPIC experience required
• Full contract length commitment required
• No local candidates accepted

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Current Driver’s License or State ID with correct name and address
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year history including Pima County, AZ
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• State license verification and NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by physician, NP, or PA
• Fit testing for N95 mask within 1 year of start (PAPR allowed onsite)
• Immunizations and health requirements:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within past 10 years (declinations allowed except for certain pediatric and labor units)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 3 months of start, renewed annually
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) – proof of vaccination or positive titer, no declinations accepted
  • Hepatitis B – proof of vaccination or positive titer, declinations allowed with signed form
  • Varicella – proof of vaccination or positive titer, no declinations accepted
  • Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30) or approved medical/religious exemption with facility-specific form
• Drug testing: 12-panel urine test within 30 days of start, must be started within 72 hours of booking
• Employment application with last 7 years of work history and explanation of gaps over 30 days
• Two professional references from employment within last 3 years, including one supervisory reference
• Skills checklist updated annually
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement and facility-specific job description required
• Pass/Fail testing (EKG/Medication) required on first day of orientation for assigned units; passing score 80% or higher

Additional Notes

• Orientation is held twice monthly; attendance is mandatory
• Candidates must sign a traveler welcome letter prior to start
• Candidates must acknowledge and comply with facility tobacco, nicotine, and vaping policy
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position

This position is ideal for experienced Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RNs comfortable with night shifts, weekend work, and working in a fast-paced hospital environment using EPIC electronic medical records.
