Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Mission Hills, California
Shift: Day (3 shifts of 12 hours each, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients
• Experience required: Minimum 2 years as a Registered Nurse
• First-time travelers accepted
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) plus 2 Fridays per 6-week schedule
• Floating: May occasionally float to nursery/baby transition role if delivery volumes are high; responsibilities include routine baby care, assessments, breastfeeding support, and labs
• Charting system: EPIC (experience preferred)
• On-call: Not required
• Locals accepted
• Pending license not accepted
• Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
• Scrub color: Any color (L/D & OR scrubs provided)
• Parking: Free

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), with NICU experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Heart & Stroke Foundation
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Fire Card (must be obtained prior to or within 30 days of start)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Work Environment

• Acute care hospital with Magnet designation
• Total staffed beds: 377
• Facility uses EPIC for charting
• No NICU deliveries attended by candidates

Notes

• Start date: ASAP
• RTO (Return to Office) restrictions must be included at time of submission
• Candidates may be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
• Background checks and other verifications have specific state and facility requirements, especially for Washington and Oregon placements (not applicable here but important for multi-state candidates)

This position is ideal for experienced RNs seeking a travel contract in a supportive acute care environment with opportunities to occasionally assist in nursery care.
