Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Hazard, Kentucky
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide nursing care in Labor & Delivery (L&D), Postpartum (PP), and Nursery units.
- Work schedule options:
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Float within scope of practice as needed.
- Every other weekend required.
- Blocked scheduling is not accommodated.
- Must reside within 75 miles of the facility.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kentucky
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 5 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in Acute Care setting
- Experience in Postpartum and Nursery care
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
Additional Requirements
- Must have an unexpired government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license).
- Must complete employment application/resume with education and work history.
- Work history verification for the past 7 years required through a third-party vendor or attestation letters if verification attempts fail.
- Must complete annual skills checklist.
- Must comply with facility-specific health and safety policies including fit mask testing (PAPR not accommodated; exemptions reviewed onsite).
- Must complete and sign facility-specific job description and health attestation forms prior to start.
- Must provide proof of completion or exemption for OSHA respirator medical evaluation, TB risk assessment, and flu vaccine documentation during flu season.
- Kentucky-specific vulnerable adult maltreatment registry verification required within 30 days prior to start.
Important Notes
- Candidates cannot be submitted to more than one job at a time.
- Assignment confirmation must be submitted within 24 hours of offer acceptance.
- Driver’s license is required in submission packets.
- Ratios and schedules may fluctuate based on census and call-ins.
