Job Opportunity: Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum Registered Nurse

Job Summary
- Work on the Mother Baby Unit providing postpartum, antepartum, and gynecological care to a high-risk population.
- Care includes well newborn care as part of rooming-in service.
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM).
- Floating possible if labor skills are present.
- No on-call required.
- Patient-to-nurse ratios:
- 1:3 for stable normal couplets
- 1:2 for couplets with complications (e.g., late preterm, mom on magnesium sulfate).
- EPIC experience required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oregon
- Minimum 1 year of Maternal-Newborn experience, with experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
Preferred Qualifications
- Maternal Newborn Certification.
- Inpatient Obstetric Certification.
- International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid government-issued photo ID required on first day.
- Background check within 6 months prior to start, including education and work history verification.
- National Sex Offender Search within 30 days prior to start.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start.
- Education verification required (BSN preferred).
- Two manager or supervisor references from the last 24 months required.
- Employment application must include at least 7 years of work history with city and state for each position.
- Skills checklist required within 1 year of start.
- Facility-specific professional appearance policy must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
- Completion of required online Compass training modules prior to start, including:
- Information Privacy and Security Essentials
- Integrity Foundations
- Harassment Prevention Fundamentals
- Glucometer 2026 (exemptions apply)
- Omnicell Nurse Patient Care Training (exemptions apply)
- Vocera Badge Training (required for inpatient RNs)
Health & Safety Requirements
- Negative TB test (2 Step-PPD, TSPOT, or QGOLD) within 12 months of start or chest X-ray if positive history.
- TB questionnaire required for all candidates.
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (full vaccine series or signed declination)
- Varicella
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (vaccine or signed declination; Tdap preferred)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required by 12/01/2025.
- Fit mask testing required within one year prior to start (N95 or equivalent). Facility no longer conducts fit testing onsite; must be completed through agency.
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel including methamphetamines within 3 months prior to start, laboratory-based through SAMHSA certified lab.

- Medication override test document provided at orientation (not required before start).
- Radiation badge required only for specific specialties (not applicable here).
- Candidates must be fully available for compliance needs up until start date; any planned unavailability must be communicated in advance.
- Facility requires signed coronavirus protocol attestation.
- Background check and screening release forms must be completed timely to avoid delays.
