Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract
Location
- Seattle, Washington
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) with strong Neuroscience experience
- Role: Circulate cardiac and transplant cases; may also circulate in other service lines such as cardiac and robotic surgeries
- Schedule: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (08:45 PM – 07:15 AM)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Floating: Within hospital only (no floating to sister hospitals)
- Patient Population: Orthopedic sports (limited total joints), minimally invasive arthroscopic and laparoscopic cases, robotics, general surgery, gynecology, urology, plastics; experience with neuro, spine, thoracic, and vascular cases is a plus
- Work Environment: Very busy, high acuity academic medical center
- Charge Nurse Duties: May be required
- Weekend Requirement: To be determined
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Return to Office Restrictions: Maximum 1 week
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Washington
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, with OR experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Neurology experience
Facility and Documentation Requirements
- Photo for badge (DMV style, no selfies) due prior to start
- Signed PCIS and Pyxis agreements as applicable
- Department checklist completion required
- Completion of UW email setup and learning modules prior to start
- WA license complaint clearance required for WA state license holders
- Flu vaccination education module required if declining vaccine
- Drug screening (10 panel) required within one year of start (Aya requirement)
- Fit mask testing must meet facility standards; PAPR testing available onsite if fit test failed
- Performance evaluation requested at end of assignment (Montlake location only)

- Scrub color: Any (scrubs provided for OR personnel)
- Charting system: EPIC
- Parking cost: Approximately $10.26 daily
- Average daily census: 50-75 patients, 28 OR rooms
- Guaranteed hours: In low census situations, providers may be called off without charge or placed on-call for up to one shift in a two-week cycle
- Ambulatory or surgical areas closed on weekends/holidays will not schedule travelers during those times
This position is ideal for experienced OR RNs with strong neuro and multi-service line skills seeking a travel contract in a high-acuity academic hospital setting on night shifts.
