Job Opportunity: Case Manager (Registered Nurse)
Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Manage case load with a ratio of 1:25-30 adults and geriatrics.
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM).
- One full weekend shift every 4 weeks.
- No call or holiday shifts required.
- Perform initial patient assessments and follow-up visits at least every third day.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Florida.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum 2 years of case management experience, including acute hospital case management and discharge planning.
- Case management experience within the last year.
- Experience in an acute care setting.
- Proficiency with Cerner, Allscripts, and Epic systems.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
Required Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC only.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA or ARC only.
- NIH Stroke Certification (AHA, Apex, Blue Cloud, or equivalent).
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 6 months of start, signed by DO, MD, NP, APRN, or PA, confirming ability to perform job without restrictions.
- Negative QuantiFERON TB test within 6 months (no TSPOT or PPD accepted). Chest X-ray accepted if prior positive TB.
- Annual TB questionnaire.
- Immunizations or proof of immunity (2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella). Declinations accepted with documentation.
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination.
- Varicella immunity or vaccination with boosters if low/equivocal titer.
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months (instant tests not accepted).
- Annual fit mask test with approved 3M 1860 masks (no exemptions or alternate masks allowed).
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31).
Background and Documentation
- Background check within 6 months including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
- Education verification required; official transcripts or diploma accepted if verification is un-verifiable.
- Government-issued photo ID required during work hours.
- Two professional references within the last 2 years required.
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start.
Orientation and Training Modules (Completion Required)
- Online clinical and general orientation modules including:
- Privacy Policy, AHCA Affidavit, Demographic Information Sheet
- Annual Risk Management, Compliance & Ethics, Code of Conduct
- Emergency Management, Workplace Harassment Prevention
- ICU Medical modules related to IV medication, hazardous drugs, and clinical references
- Stroke Core Measures, End of Life Care, Procedural Sedation
- Additional nursing-specific modules as applicable
Additional Information
- Locals within a 60-mile radius considered.
- Badge photo required: passport-style, color, white background, no hats or sunglasses.
- Must maintain all certifications and health requirements with valid expiration dates (no certifications expiring within 30 days of start accepted).
This position offers a structured day shift schedule with no call or holiday requirements, ideal for experienced acute care case management RNs seeking a travel contract in Florida.
