Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - NICU

- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Total 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications
- Ohio State license required for Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT)
- Prefer close to 2 years of experience in specialty (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics)
- 2 professional supervisory or managerial references required (1 must be submitted at application; peer references not accepted)
- Floating to other units may be required
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) certification required for RRTs
- Current government-issued photo ID matching legal name on license and certifications
- Must have completed all required background checks and verifications within specified timeframes (see Compliance Requirements)
Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certification required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certification required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA/AAP certification required for NICU
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - as applicable
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) - as applicable
- National technical certification verification required within 30 days of start
Compliance and Background Requirements
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start (7-year search including all counties lived/worked)
- Education verification through National Student Clearinghouse or in-house verification if needed
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Ohio BCI/FBI fingerprinting within 60 days of start (must be updated for each new contract)
- Sex offender search within 30 days of start
- State-specific searches including Ohio Nurse Aide Registry, Inmate Registry, Medicaid Exemption, and Abuse Registry within 30 days of start
- Drug screening (9-panel) within 60 days prior to start
- Verification of state license within 30 days of start
- Employment application and copy of resume required
- Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (candidates sign Infection Control Policy in lieu of physical exam copy)
- TB testing options accepted: 2 PPDs or QGOLD/TSPOT within 12 months; additional requirements if positive
- Annual N95 fit testing required (acceptable mask models specified)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine required within 10 years of start (must be completed after age 11)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity required via positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
- Hepatitis B immunity or declination required
- Varicella immunity required via positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
- Seasonal flu vaccine required between October 31 and May 31; medical/religious exemptions require facility approval and mask-wearing during flu season
- TB Questionnaire and Fingerprint Screening Questions must be completed prior to start
- Fit test documentation must be provided annually; candidates with beards have options for PAPR/CAPR

- Candidate’s legal name must match all documentation (license, certifications, background checks)
- Ohio driver’s license address must not be within 60 miles of the facility to avoid being considered local
- Fingerprinting must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing contract; facility may complete onsite if results pending at start
