Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Rochester, New York
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
• On-call requirements: Yes
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty (Radiology / Cardiology)
• First-time travelers accepted: Yes
• Local candidates: Must live more than 50 miles away

Required Certifications

• ACLS (AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI acceptable)
• BLS (AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI acceptable)
• ARRT (preferred) or RCIS (only one RCIS allowed on call at a time)

Required Skills & Procedures

• Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab procedures
• Cardiac Implant Closure Device and Cardiac Stent Placement
• Diagnostic Catheterizations (Adult)
• IABP Placement and Removal
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
• Left and Right Heart Catheterization
• Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI) and Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA)
• Rotablader athrectomy
• Scrub procedures, maintaining sterile field, room circulator duties, and equipment setup

Required Licenses & Verifications

• State license verification (primary source) within 30 days of start
• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year criminal background check (felony checks)
  • SSN Trace, National Criminal, National Sex Offender
  • Education verification from primary source
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start and monthly thereafter
• Foreign education equivalency evaluation if applicable
• Employment verification of at least 2 past employments

Health & Compliance Requirements (Must be completed within 5 days of contract signing)

• Physical exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
• Fit mask test (annual) with acceptable mask types or PAPR if failed
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year) or TB questionnaire
• Immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (surface antibody positive titer, completed series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Drug screening within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, opiates, etc.)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season
• Snellen eye exam (within 1 year)
• COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Additional Requirements

• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as required
• Color Blind Testing (one-time)
• Competency exam as required by specialty
• Facility-specific documents including photo for badge and pre-employment attestations

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in New York
• Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• ARRT or RCIS certification
• Experience in Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab procedures
• Proficient with Cardiac Implant Closure Device and Cardiac Stent Placement
• Skilled in Diagnostic Catheterizations (Adult)
• Experience with IABP Placement and Removal
• Ability to interpret dysrhythmias
• Experience with Left Heart Catheterization
• Proficient in Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI) and Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA)
