Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM (4x10 hour shifts)
  • On-call: 7-8 call shifts per month, including 1 weekend
  • Daily caseload: Varies between 4-16 cases per tech
  • Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs
  • Locals: Not accepted (70-mile radius rule)
  • Scrubs provided
  • Free onsite parking

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
  • Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 12 months, including SSN trace, 7-year county and nationwide search, sex offender search
  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • Primary source verification of state license prior to start
  • Negative drug screen within 12 months of start
  • OSHA Respirator Clearance required prior to start (fit testing done onsite during orientation)
  • TB testing: PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT within 12 months; chest x-ray within 5 years if PPD positive
  • Immunizations/vaccinations:
    • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (must be renewed annually)
    • Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination (required for new candidates)
    • Varicella, Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (proof of immunity or vaccination)
    • COVID vaccine series preferred
  • Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health
  • Two professional references required
  • Skills checklist required

Orientation & Training

  • Completion of facility-specific modules annually via LMS platform
  • Cath Lab AbioMed Impella Online Training required annually
  • Agency Personnel Orientation Checklist to be completed post-start
  • Fit mask testing onsite during first week of orientation (clean-shaven required for fit test)

Additional Notes

  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Must request all requested time off (RTO) with submission; additional RTO after signing at manager discretion
  • Candidates must submit a clear, passport-style photo for badge issuance
  • Candidates must sign confidentiality, security agreements, and standards of ethical conduct prior to start

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Techs with required certifications and skills, willing to work a travel contract with on-call responsibilities in a tertiary care academic medical center setting.
