Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Neuro ICU

Location: Shreveport, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each) from 18:45 to 07:15
Patient Census: Approximately 10 patients
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2
Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend


Job Description

  • May be assigned to an Emergency Team during critical events, requiring staying onsite until the event passes or serving as part of a relief team.
  • Float assignments occur only between Neuro ICU and other ICUs based on staffing needs.
  • Scrub color: Royal blue.
  • Epic electronic health record experience is required.
  • This unit accepts first-time travel nurses.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana.
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, with ICU experience within the last year.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification.
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
