Job Details

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Alabama
• Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Experience

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Must provide proof of work eligibility (I-9 form and E-Verify attestation)
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, sex offender registry, education verification, and federal exclusions (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG) within 30 days of start
• Drug testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (instant/rapid tests not accepted)
• Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 12 months prior to start (specific approved mask models)
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: titer or 2 vaccines required (booster or declination if low titer)
  • Hepatitis B: titer, vaccine series, or declination
  • Flu vaccination required for placements starting on or after September 15 (declinations not accepted except medical/religious exemptions with mask requirement)
  • COVID vaccine voluntary
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references within last 12 months (up to 18 months if necessary)
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
• Completion and hand-signing of APS Registry Clearance Form (Shirley’s Law) prior to orientation
• Photo for badge (passport-style, no nose rings) within 72 hours of signing contract

Additional Notes

• Candidate must live at least 90 miles from the facility
• Driver’s license name must match RN license name exactly
• Facility-specific training modules will be provided and must be completed before orientation
• Core competency exams and HIPAA attestations required
• Skills checklist must be updated annually
