Travel Registered Nurse (ICU) - Vermont

Location

  • Burlington, Vermont

Contract Length

  • 16 weeks

Unit / Specialty

  • Surgical ICU (SICU) with floating to Medical ICU (MICU) as needed
  • Post cardiac surgery, vascular, trauma-level 1, general surgery, neurosurgery, overflow MICU patient population

Schedule

  • Must be willing to work potentially all weekend shifts
  • Minimum of every other weekend required
  • Flexible schedule, no block schedules
  • Monday to Sunday coverage

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse license for Vermont
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience (higher value confirmed)
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Experience in a large teaching facility (500+ beds) required
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required prior to start
  • CCRN certification preferred
  • Hemodynamic device experience required
  • EPIC electronic medical record experience within the past 2 years required (non-negotiable)

Additional Requirements

  • Must wear any solid color scrubs
  • Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended (public transportation not accessible)
  • Vehicle should have all-season or snow tires November through April

Orientation & Onboarding

  • Bi-weekly orientations on Mondays
  • Complete all employment gaps over 90 days with explanation
  • Complete all required modules (EPIC, Cornerstone) prior to start
  • Provide complete work history including bed count, EMR, and facility type

Certifications & Compliance

  • Background check within 30 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Education verification as applicable
  • Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology and color blindness testing
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • N95 fit test required prior to assignment and annually
  • Required vaccinations or documented exemptions: Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu (seasonal), COVID-19
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within past 12 months
  • Drug testing as required
  • Vermont Adult and Child Abuse Registry consent and background checks
  • Compliance with facility dress code and telephone usage policies

Documentation

  • Passport-style photo with plain light background required for badge
  • Emergency contact form completion required
  • Auto insurance proof required if using personal vehicle

This position requires a highly flexible ICU nurse with prior travel experience, strong critical care skills, and the ability to work weekends and float between units in a large academic medical center environment.
