Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology professional with a strong background in Cath Lab procedures and fluoro permit certification. The role involves working with a diverse patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics in an inpatient setting, with float and call requirements.
Required Experience
- Minimum 4 years of Cath Lab experience (higher specialty experience requirement takes precedence)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience overall; first-time travelers are acceptable if they meet the 4+ years Cath Lab experience
- Experience with inpatient care required; outpatient, ER, Level I Trauma, community hospital, and adult ICU experience preferred
- Prior travel experience not explicitly required
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- CRT (Cardiovascular Technologist) prior to start
- Fluoro Permit (mandatory before starting)
Preferred Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- ARRT Advanced
- NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board)
Skills & Procedures
- IV starts, phlebotomy, EKGs, PACs, portables, C-Arm, contrast administration
- Experience with TAVR, Watchman, and MitraClip procedures
- Interventional Radiology/Angio/Special Procedures including stents, ablations, angioplasty, angiograms, paracentesis, thoracentesis, nephrogram, kyphoplasty
- Peripheral biopsies, drainages, vascular and neurological studies, venous access, hemodynamic monitoring
Equipment Experience
- Required: Siemens, Phillips
- Preferred: GE, Toshiba, Acuson, Hitachi
Work Environment
- Patient population: Pediatrics through Geriatrics
- Unit systems: EPIC electronic health record system
- Call and float required
Additional Requirements
- COVID-19 vaccination is required
- All Return to Office (RTO) days must be included in initial submission; limit RTO to 3-4 days
Compliance & Documentation (Summary)
- Background checks covering last 7 years of residence and work history
- Drug screening (10-panel, including marijuana) within 30 days of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
- Physical exam within last 12 months
- Fit testing for respirators (N95) as needed
- Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination during flu season
- Professional references (2 within last 2 years) unless agency flip
- Photo for badge (shoulders up, plain background, no filters)
- Various competency exams and skills checklists as applicable
Important Notes

- Respirator clearance required prior to start
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in California
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
- Experience as a Special Procedures Technologist
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- California Fluoroscopy Permit (Fluoro Permit)
- Experience working in an inpatient setting
- Proficient in IV starts, phlebotomy, EKGs, PACs, portables, C-Arm operation, and contrast administration
- Experience with TAVR and Watchman procedures
