Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Schedule: Every 3rd weekend and holidays as needed
• Float required across multiple campuses
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
• Unit: Inpatient rehab department specializing in neurological diagnoses such as CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, stroke, aneurysm, post-op surgical, and generalized debility
• Preferred experience in acute care rehab

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse license in North Carolina
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Rehabilitation experience

Certifications & Exams

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Pass/Fail EKG/Dysrhythmia Exam
• EPIC Test (online, 2 attempts allowed)
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher)
• Competency Exam as applicable (80% or higher)
• NIH Stroke Certification (may be required depending on unit)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Social Security Card (required for badge)
• Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including aliases, national criminal, federal court, sex offender, FACIS Level 3, and education verification
• Foreign equivalency evaluation if education obtained outside the U.S.
• Education verification: Associate’s degree in nursing or higher required
• Transcript/Diploma for highest education (if applicable)
• NURSYS license verification within 60 days of start
• Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
• Employment verification for last 5 years through third party
• Two supervisory references from clinical assignments within last 24 months (one within 12 months)
• Annual skills checklist with a one-week grace period for renewal
• Facility-specific documents including health history form, floating policy, contractor equipment acknowledgement, dress code, and job description acknowledgment
• Badge photo meeting strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start (includes THC, opiates, methadone, cocaine, PCP, amphetamines, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, oxycodone, propoxyphene)
• Fit mask test completed within current calendar year and updated annually (N95 approved types)
• Proof of adult Tdap vaccine
• Negative TB test (Qgold/TSPOT) within 6 months or chest X-ray if positive history
• TB questionnaire within 30 days of start and updated annually
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines at least 28 days apart
• Hepatitis B: Titer or declination with booster series as applicable
• Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines at least 28 days apart
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete a mandatory questionnaire prior to offer
• Compliance deadline: 12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to start date
• Candidates must be aware of and agree to float between campuses as needed
• Fingerprinting required only for Home Health and Long-Term Care positions (not applicable here)
• Workday login and onboarding tasks must be completed before arrival
• Candidate must be aware of zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences

This position is ideal for experienced travel RNs with neurological rehab experience who are flexible, reliable, and meet strict compliance and certification requirements.
