Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech - Surgical Services

Location: Aurora, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Surgical Services (Hybrid OR Surgical Tech - Endovascular/CVOR)
  • Shift: 12-hour shifts starting at 6:45 AM, occasional float to 10:45 AM starts
  • Weekend Requirement: Yes, per unit needs
  • On-call Requirement: Approximately 6 shifts per 8-week schedule
  • Floating: May float between service lines and sister facilities as needed
  • Facility Level: Level 1 trauma center

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Vascular OR experience
  • Must be strong in both endovascular and open vascular surgical techniques
  • First-time travelers accepted if experience requirements are met

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • State License: Colorado DORA certification required for Surgical Tech
  • BLS: AHA Basic Life Support required
  • Tech Certification: National certification required if certified through NBSTSA
  • Candidates must confirm renewal plans for any certifications expiring within 90 days of start

Required Qualifications & Compliance

  • Valid CVOR Technologist license in Colorado
  • Minimum 2 years of CVOR Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • Surgical Technologist experience
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Strong endovascular and open vascular surgical skills
  • Must complete a 7-year background check including education verification and various federal/state screenings
  • Drug testing required within 30 days of start and updated annually
  • Physical exam required within 1 year of start, signed by MD, DO, NP, or PA
  • Fit mask test required within 12 months of start and updated annually (specific approved masks)
  • Immunizations and titers required: TDAP, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu seasonal vaccination (or facility exemption)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, with annual updates if positive history
  • Color Blindness: Ishihara exam required prior to start (online testing not accepted)
  • Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency required
  • References: 2 references from last 2 years, including one from last year, from charge RN, manager, or supervisor
  • Employment history verification for last 3 years required

Additional Notes

  • Maximum of 10 RTO (Return to Office) days approved
  • RTO not allowed during specific blackout periods in 2026
  • Candidates with employment gaps over 15 days considered new and must meet full requirements
  • Floating and on-call duties are part of the role as per unit/facility needs
