Job Opportunity: MFM Ultrasound Technician (Travel/Contract)
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (MFM Ultrasound Tech)
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Days, 5x8 (08:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
Start Date: January 26, 2026
Average Daily Census: 70-80 patients
Average Exam Volume: 8 exams per day
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required in Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) ultrasound.
- Experience must include MFM, high-risk OB, OB/GYN, and portable ultrasound.
- First-time travelers are accepted (prior travel experience not required).
Licensure & Certifications
- ARDMS OB/GYN certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA only (refer to unit/job description for applicability).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - AHA only (refer to unit/job description for applicability).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA/AAP only (refer to unit/job description for applicability).
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) - refer to unit/job description.
- Other certifications such as CHEMO, TNCC, STABLE, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI, and others may be required depending on unit/job description.
Work Schedule & Requirements
- No weekends required.
- Holidays required as scheduled.
- Floating within the specialty may be required.
- Scheduled on-call shifts are not required.
Compliance & Background Checks
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start; must be updated annually.
- Education verification for highest level of education.
- State-specific exclusions list check (Maryland Medicaid Sanctioned Providers List).
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Latex screening.
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start.
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for units working with children)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (positive titer or vaccination proof)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination accepted; series not accepted)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- COVID vaccine not required for this location but documentation collected for tracking.
Uniform & Facility Guidelines
- Scrub colors: Navy blue; pink for trauma assignments.
- Pediatric department: Navy blue scrub pants with child-friendly tops.
- Short sleeve undershirts: White; long sleeve undershirts: Navy (pink if wearing pink scrubs).
- Business casual allowed in GOR department or case management (no jeans, no open-toe shoes, no sleeveless tops, no shorts).
- Passport-style photo with solid white/beige background required for badge.
Competency Exams & Training
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (score 80%+).
- Color Blind Testing Online.
- Competency Exam relevant to profession/specialty (score 80%+).
- Age Specific Competency Exam (all staff including CNAs).
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (most units except certain roles).
- Epic Portfolio Training Test Out available for eligible hires.
References & Employment History
- Two supervisory references required within 1 year of start.
- Employment application/resume must be completed within 30 days of start.
- Verification of previous 5 years of employment history required (attestation accepted if necessary).
