Labor and Delivery RN

Job Overview

  • Travel/contract RN position in Orange, California
  • Labor & Delivery unit, including OR, antepartum, and float to postpartum
  • Start: ASAP
  • Schedule: 3x12 night shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid California RN license
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
  • 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience
  • BLS issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS
  • NRP
  • EFM
  • AWHONN Advanced
  • NIHSS
  • Unit-specific competency exam
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam
  • Infection Control/Bloodborne Pathogens exam
  • 2 references within 1 year of start in the current specialty, from a leadership role
  • Government-issued photo ID
  • Criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • N95 fit test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap documentation
  • Hepatitis B series or declination
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity documentation
  • Hepatitis C titer preferred; declination accepted if needed
  • Flu vaccination or declination
  • Signed HIPAA acknowledgement
  • Signed confidentiality agreement
  • Signed unit-specific job description
  • Signed traveler acknowledgement
  • Signed epidural pain policy review
  • Signed orientation info and acknowledgement
  • Signed skills self-assessment
  • Signed Pyxis agreement
  • Signed workplace violence prevention acknowledgement
  • Signed sexual violence and sexual harassment policy acknowledgement
  • Signed standard of care: skin care acknowledgement
  • Signed confidentiality and other required onboarding documents within 72 hours of signing

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must pass a medication/calculation exam and an arrhythmia recognition assessment
  • All RN candidates must complete continuing education documentation from the last 24 months
  • COVID-related masking requirements may apply based on vaccination status
