Medical Surgical RN

Overview

• Travel/contract RN role in Belleville, Kansas
• Primary focus is medical-surgical care, with the ability to manage labor and delivery patients when needed
• 13-week contract
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No scheduled on-call hours; may be asked to be on-call during low census if an OB patient presents
• Locals accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kansas
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg (1 year of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• Labor and Delivery experience
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure

Compliance / Pre-Start Requirements

• Background check
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check
• HHS/OIG check
• State exclusion list search
• Physical exam
• Drug screen
• Tdap within 10 years of start
• TB screening and annual TB questionnaire
• Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity or vaccination documentation
• Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination
• Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam
• Competency exam
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
• Secondary onsite physical exam and drug screen before first shift

• Med-surg ratio: 1:4
• Labor and delivery ratio: 1:1
• BLS and PALS are listed as applicable certifications
• TNCC is preferred but not required
