Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Fredericksburg, Virginia
• Night shift: 3x12s, 19:00-07:00
• Start date: ASAP
• First-timers accepted
• Every other weekend required
• Float within scope to meet facility needs
• Local candidates accepted
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Trauma ICU (2 years of experience)
• Trauma ICU experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with arterial line management
• Experience with blood product administration
• Experience with acute ventilator management
• Experience with CRRT
• Experience caring for CABG patients
• Experience with transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR)
• Experience with traumatic brain injury (TBI) management
• Experience with massive transfusion protocol (MTP)

Preferred

• Strong CVICU experience

Unit / Clinical Setting

• SICU with a specialized population including trauma patients, CV surgery patients such as TAVRs and CABGs directly from the OR, neurosurgery patients, and other complicated surgical patients
• Common diagnoses / care needs include dysrhythmia management, arterial line management, blood product administration, acute ventilator need, COVID+ with high O2 demand, DKA, severe sepsis, unstable GI bleed, trauma cases, open heart recovery, TAVR recovery, s/p code blue, multi system organ failure, and CRRT

Schedule / Assignment Notes

• On-call not required
• Ratios: 1:2-3, adjusted to skill level and acuity during required float
• Block scheduling not accommodated
