Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (12-hour shifts)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Schedule Requirements: Every other weekend and holidays required

Job Summary

Provide respiratory therapy under medical direction, including education, treatment, management, and diagnostic evaluation of patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies. Responsibilities include:

Assisting with intubation and ventilator setup/management
Evaluating patient needs and providing disease-specific education
Collaborating with patients, caregivers, and healthcare team members
Documenting patient education clearly
Floating to adult ICU, intermediate care, and basic intermediate care floors as needed
Adhering to organizational competencies and standards of behavior
Physical requirements: lift, push, and pull minimum 5 lbs; stand at least 1 hour per day

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in New Jersey
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from NBRC
Basic secondary education or its equivalent
Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist
BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
