Job Overview

• Travel RN position in Springfield, Missouri

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Psychiatric experience within the last year
• 1 year of psychiatric experience in an inpatient setting
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Driver's License
• Flu vaccination required for travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations and exceptions are not accepted

Schedule and Assignment Notes

• Weekend coverage as required by the facility
• No call requirement
• Block scheduling may be approved based on facility requirements
• RTO must be made up later; first-week RTO is not approved
• Holiday RTO is limited to one request per assignment
• Night-shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires availability for the entire week

Unit and Patient Population

• Adult acute psych/non-medical patients
• Patient ratio: 1:8
• 32 beds, transitioning to 36

Work Expectations

• May be asked to work as a tech or sitter if needed
• Uses the nursing process for direct patient care, coordination, and evaluation of care
• High exposure risk to blood and body fluids
• Physical demands include standing and walking most of the shift, bending, stooping, lifting and turning patients with assistance, and pushing/pulling/gripping up to 50 lbs

Dress Code

• Black scrubs
• Mercy-approved T-shirts
• Closed-toe shoes required; crocs and similar shoes are not allowed
