Job Overview
- Location: Farmington, New Mexico
- Employment type: Travel
- Specialty: Gastroenterology (pre/intra/post procedure)
- Shift: Days, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Openings: 3
- Patient population: Adults with mid to high acuity
- Float: May float to PreOp if Endo cases are low
- Call: Weekend and evening call required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Endoscopy (3 years of experience)
- Endoscopy experience within the last year
- BLS
- ACLS
- Intraprocedural technical experience
Key Responsibilities / Clinical Experience
- Perform endoscopy procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, and bronchoscopy
- Demonstrate competency in procedural skills such as biopsy, dilation, banding, therapeutic injection, foreign body retrieval, clip application, snare use, ERCP-related interventions, hemostasis, argon plasma coagulation, and Minnesota tube use
- Troubleshoot equipment and supplies
- Assist other team members proactively in their assigned roles

- Procedural tech experience is required
- Cerner is listed as the EHR system used on the unit

Pros
Unit is comprised of many travelers. Core staff and travelers have all been fantastic! The unit is set up quite well to manage the surges of patients. It is the only main hospital around so it can definitely provide good experience. Most of the providers I've encountered over the last couple months actually listen to the nurses and are easy to work with.
Cons
It is definitely busy before the size of the town. I can't say I have any other cons.
