Job Opportunity: CST/ORT - Travel Position
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Specialty: CST/ORT (Certified Surgical Technologist / Operating Room Technician)
- Employment Type: Travel
- Facility Type: Large hospital with 815 beds, Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, Level III neonatal intensive care unit, and pediatric emergency services
- Scheduling: Variable schedule with call required
- Floating: May float to other departments

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in CST/ORT specialty
- Must have a score of 3 or higher on Skills Checklist for Neuro, Ortho, and Vascular procedures
- Broad surgical knowledge with experience in multiple service lines including:
- General surgery
- Gynecology (GYN)
- Robotics
- Neurosurgery
- Orthopedics
- Plastic surgery
- Urology
- Burn and trauma surgery
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) required

Lots of other travelers, nice approachable management that are on the floor in scrubs to help not criticize, updated cerner launch point, staff helps other staff, security is able to protect staff, PD is at hospital
Cons
Charge is only available to help with traumas otherwise they sit at their desk, techs assign pts to ER rooms making very heavy patient loads with multiple traumas with other nurse assignments being very light, not enough policies to protect nurses from verbal and physical violence from patients
