Unit Profile

• Patient Ratios:

  • Active labor: 1:1
  • Couplet care: 3:1
• Equipment: Intermediate fetal monitoring, Philips Tracevue
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Meditech
• Patient Population: Laboring mothers and newborns
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • STABLE certification
• Experience Required: 1-2 years (will consider 1 year with prior travel experience)

Onboarding Requirements

• Iowa SING background check clearance (criminal and child abuse portions required) – no exceptions
• All background checks (counties and states) must be fully cleared prior to start – no instant or statewide searches accepted
• Mandatory reporter certification (child and adult)
• 10-panel drug test including opiates
• Titers within the last 12 months for MMR, Hep B, Varicella, and TB
• Start days allowed: Monday or Tuesday
