Travel RN Opportunity - Cardiology / Intermediate Care (IMC)

Location: Farmington, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility & Unit Overview

• Level III trauma center with 198 beds
• Services include medical, surgical, rehabilitation, childbirth, cancer, nephrology, pediatric, behavioral health, day surgery, imaging, and lab testing
• Cardiology Unit with 24 beds
• Patient population: Adult to Geriatric
• EHR system: Cerner
• Equipment: Standard Cardiology monitoring (Telemetry, T-1’s), IV pumps, Crash Carts

Position Details

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: Cardiology and Intermediate Care (IMC)
• Shift: Night shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 to 48 hours (3 or 4 twelve-hour shifts)
• Weekend Hours: Vary, based on a two-week pay period
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: Yes, floating to PCU, Medical, Surgical, or Nephrology units as needed

Experience & Education Requirements

• Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years in Cardiology or IMC (Intermediate Care)
• Preferred Experience: IMC & Cardiac Care
• Required Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or higher with valid state RN license
• Required Certifications: BLS & ACLS (American Heart Association)

Patient Ratios

• IMC patients:

  • Day shift: 1 RN to 4 patients (active titrating drips)
  • Night shift: 1 RN to 4-5 patients
• Med/Surg patients:

  • Day shift: 1 RN to 5-6 patients
  • Night shift: 1 RN to 5-6 patients

Common Diagnoses / Treatments

• STEMI (ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction)
• Non-STEMI
• Stroke
• Post Cardiac Catheterization
• Alcohol-related conditions (ETOH)

Additional Notes

• No prior travel experience required
• Floating expected to other units as needed
• Located in a scenic area with outdoor recreational opportunities nearby (hiking, kayaking, national parks)
