- Patient Ratio: 4:1
- Equipment: Telemetry floor
- EMR System: Epic
- Guarantee Hours: 36 hours per week
Required Certifications and Licenses
- Registered Nurse License (must be in hand at time of submission)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Certification
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in the specialty
- Preferred experience in:
- Cardiac care
- Neuro care
- Post-surgical care
- Stroke care (NIH/Stroke care protocols)
Skills and Procedures
- Required skills:
- IV insertion/phlebotomy
- Nasogastric tube (NGT) care
- Tracheostomy care
- CPAP management
- High flow oxygen therapy
- Non-titratable drips (except heparin)
- Post-surgical patient care
- NIH/stroke care
- Teamwork and adaptability
- Typical procedures:
- Q4 full assessments and vital signs
- Ambulation of post-surgical patients
- CIWA protocols
- Labs and cardiac monitoring
- Electrolyte replacements
Work Environment and Expectations
- Floating areas include Ortho, Medical-Surgical, Medical-Oncology, MOU, Rehab, CVSU
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
- Weekend and holiday coverage required:
- 3 weekend shifts per 4-week period
- 3 major holidays per year
