Job Opportunity: LPN/LVN - Telemetry

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Medical-Surgical Telemetry (Med Surg Tele)
Floor: A3 West
Number of Beds: 38
Patient Ratios:
- Day Shift: 6:1 (goal for charge nurse to assist)
- Night Shift: 7:1
Typical Staff on Day Shift: 1 charge RN, 6-7 RNs, 1 LPN, 3 PCTs, 1 unit secretary
Typical Staff on Night Shift: 1 charge RN, 6 RNs, 1 LPN, 2-3 PCTs, HUC part shift
Equipment Used: Baxter IV pumps, Wound vacs, SCDS, prima-fits, primo-fits
EMR System: Cerner Powerchart

Required Qualifications

Valid LPN/LVN license in North Carolina
Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
Medical-surgical nursing experience
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
IV Therapy Certificate

Work Schedule & Policies

Weekend shifts: Every other weekend or approximately 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Floating: Travelers float before permanent staff to other medical-surgical units or ED holding medical/surgical patients
Dress Code: Navy or white scrubs (all navy, all white, or white top with navy pants; undershirts navy or white if needed)
