Job Opportunity: Operating Room Nurse (RN)

Location: Tucson, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

As an Operating Room Nurse, you will demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning and delivering patient care in the operating room. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, OR technicians, and other team members to provide care according to state nursing regulations, AORN standards, physician orders, and hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure availability of supplies and timeliness of surgical cases
  • Communicate with patient families
  • Update physician preference cards
  • Scrub and assist physicians during surgeries
  • Supervise personnel delivering patient care
  • Floating to other units as needed

Schedule & Work Conditions

  • Shift: 0630 to 1700, working 4 days per week on 10-hour shifts
  • 10 to 12 days of call required within a 6-week period
  • No block schedule option
  • No 48-hour guarantee

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Arizona
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) RN experience, including experience within the last year
  • BLS certification

Additional Information

  • Electronic Medical Record system used: SurgiNet (Cerner)
  • Scrub colors provided

This position requires flexibility with floating and call duties, and strong teamwork skills in a fast-paced surgical environment.
