Travel Registered Nurse — Med Surg / Progressive Care

• Show Low, Arizona

Contract

• 13 weeks
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour shifts
• Nights

Schedule

• 3 shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• No cancellations

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Arizona
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• 2 years of PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• Experience in an acute care setting
• Med Surg experience
• Telemetry experience

Unit Details

• 18-bed telemetry unit with 6 PCU-capable beds
• Private rooms
• May care for COVID patients if needed
• May float to all Med Surg units

Clinical Support / Workflow

• Charge nurse available 24/7
• Tele techs, HUCs, and PCTs on unit
• RN-to-patient ratios: 1:4 for Med Surg and 1:3 for PCU/Stepdown
• Nurses validate monitor tech interpretations and document at least every 4 hours as needed

Orientation

• 2–3 days with a preceptor

Common Patient Diagnoses

• AMI
• Stroke/TIA
• Pneumonia
• Renal/dialysis
• A-fib with RVR
• SIRS
• Diabetes

Additional Clinical Information

• No IV team
• Respiratory therapist available 24/7
• Pharmacy available 24/7
• Hospitalist in house 24/7
